2026 Congressional District Updates
The Tennessee General Assembly has officially adopted revised congressional districts. These new boundary lines will be in effect for the upcoming 2026 election cycle. We encourage citizens to review the updated statewide redistricting information.
Local Impact: Hamilton County continues to remain wholly within U.S. House District 3. While there were changes to the district lines that affect other counties in Tennessee, Hamilton County's congressional representation remains unchanged.
Information for Congressional Candidates
Existing Candidates
Candidates who qualified by March 10 have three options:
- Run in the new district that has the same district number that appears on the original nominating petition.
- Run in a new district that has a different district number than what appeared on the petition by filing a notarized statement with the Coordinator of Elections by 12:00 Noon on May 15.
- Withdraw by 12:00 Noon on May 15 by filing a notarized statement with the Coordinator of Elections.
Candidates may file notarized statements to change districts or withdraw in person, by mail, or by attaching the statement to an email. Existing candidates who take no action will remain qualified in the district listed on their original nominating petition.
