New Business

  • I. Certification of the August 6, 2026 Election
    • • Audit Report – Quinten Howard (Mauldin & Jenkins CPAs)
    • • Certification of Election Results
    • • Certification of Election Expenses
  • II. Review & adopt new public comment policy.
    • • All occurrences of the old statutory citation Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-44-113 were updated to Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-44-112.
    • • Removed the restriction that limited comments to meetings with “actionable items on the agenda”. Comments are now reserved for each public meeting.
    • • Added the right for the public to comment on any matter germane to the jurisdiction of the Election Commission (regardless of whether it is an item on the agenda).
    • • Sign-Up Sheet Updated
    • • All changes relate to bringing the public comment policy into compliance with Public Chapter 620.

Public Comment Period

(Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-44-112 and the Hamilton County Election Commission Public Comment Policy)

  • Scope: Comments from the public must be germane to items on the agenda or any matter germane to the jurisdiction of the Election Commission (regardless of whether it is an item on the agenda).
  • Sign-Up Requirement: Any individual wishing to speak must complete the physical sign-up sheet made available before the start of the meeting.
  • Time Limit: Each speaker is permitted up to two (2) minutes within which to comment on a specified agenda item or jurisdictional matter.
  • Speaker Limits: A maximum of four (4) speakers per agenda item or matter—two (2) in favor and two (2) in opposition—will be recognized on a first-come, first-served basis. If a group or organization is present to speak, they may elect only one (1) individual to speak on behalf of the organization concerning each agenda item or matter.
